My name is Doğukan Ilgın, and I’m a former professional chef with 8 years of experience in Turkey’s finest kitchens.

My journey began in 2017 as a humble kebab apprentice. Over the years, I had the privilege of working at renowned restaurants including Sish Ocakbaşı, Majha Restaurant, Panacco, Hunger, Noemie, and Rupa — each one shaping me into the chef I became.

In 2024, I stepped away from professional kitchens — but I never stepped away from Turkish cuisine.

Turkish food has always fascinated me. Its incredible diversity, its unique flavor combinations, its soul — there is nothing quite like it in the world. I believe every person on this planet deserves to experience these flavors.

That’s why I created Chef From Turkey. This blog is my way of sharing the dishes I love with the whole world — one recipe at a time.
